Re-birth

Re-birth in some form or other is a constant part of our every day lives. When we wake up, we go through some kind of re-birth, re-entering our conscious mind after a night of sleep. Each new day offers fresh challenges and a continuity of work in progress. The first conscious re-birth undergone in our spiritual waking time is always a significant milestone, when we observe some of the forces at work around and in us. It is a beautiful affirmation of us turning from the caterpillar into the butterfly, having shed security that we no longer need, read to face the next chapter of our lives. It is also recognition that the lessons from that particular cycle in our lives have been learned. We understand and accept the processes and are willing to be shown more. There are ancient re-birthing techniques that require a teacher here I am concerned with cycles and self-cleansing. It is the conscious recognition that one cycle has ended and another is beginning, on any level.

Dreams come into their own here because they appear to be an involuntary mechanism completely detached from us. There can be no question of us interfering knowingly with the meanings behind them. Every body has a way of interpreting their own dreams and what is right for one is not necessarily right for anyone else, but there are very universal signs in dreams that re-birth has occurred in a significant manner.

My first conscious re-birth was illustrated to me in a dream where I actually went through the motions of being born. I could feel the sensations of not wanting to be born leaving the safety of the womb to begin a new life. Sounds and smells permeated my being as the memories of those forgotten events flooded my sleeping mind. When I awoke I was unsure what had been going on. The smell still lingered around my nostrils I was curled up in the fetal position and I half expected to see doctors and nurses walking around the bedroom. I had talked of re-birth with others but never imagined it could be such a physical or powerful experience. Up until then, I had felt confident that all was going well and progress was being made, but now I felt unsure, new and cleansed. There was a distinctive feeling that I had lost something, but not sure what it was or whether I should be worrying about it. Old habits that have prevented growth are shed when we re-birth in such a manner, we can no longer hold onto them, the new consciousness takes control and we emerge from the experience having adjusted ourselves to our new reality of ourselves.

During the period after a re-birth, visions and thoughts of weddings and joining ceremonies very often manifest themselves. We are for a while in a state of limbo a bit lost as to where to go or what to do next we need to focus on our goals. It is an ideal time to break patterns and circles throwing out our old conditioning. Soon we gather our loins and move forward, not forgetting what we have learned but benefiting from our experience and growing to fit the new environment. The same feelings can accompany the changing of guides and can be equally dramatic. It still amazes me how we experience these things in a very physical way.

To move on we need to consolidate our experience and saturate ourselves in it to fully understand the lessons and where we have got to and where we need to go next. Half measures reveal half-truths. These events can happen at almost anytime but they usually coincide with other cycles in our lives. Astrology and the seasons all provide an appropriate time for re-birthing experiences making it possible to share our life changes with others going through similar times. Mirroring the events on a worldwide scale

At one time I believed that we had one almighty change and then on we went. Re-births are sequential, a continual roller coaster. Several re-births can be part of a large change as coming to the end of some cycles involves an incredibly amount of awakening. Constantly catching up with ourselves re-affirming what we have learned and putting the thought into action. I never know exactly when it is going to transpire, there may be clues but I do not wait for them, they arrive when they are ready and at unexpected times and in unforeseen ways. Neither can they be rushed, as long as we are aware they will turn up when the time is right, they will not be missed. It is possible to speed the process up by putting a lot of effort in developing but to push too hard will cause lesson to be skimped. This results in us having to go back and re-learn parts of the cycle, which can be very tedious even painful. Our energy is better directed at getting on with the task in hand understanding thoroughly and acting on the insights given rather than trying to win a race. There is no race to think that is to miss the point entirely.
